跨学科视域下的文学伦理学批评
——聂珍钊教授访谈录

【摘要】聂珍钊是我国知名的外国文学研究专家,现任浙江大学外国语言文化与国际交流学院教授,兼任中国外国文学学会副会长、国际文学伦理学批评研究会副会长及中美诗歌诗学学会副会长。作为文学伦理学批评的中国创始人,聂教授近年来主要致力于文学伦理学批评的理论建构与批评实践。近日,我们有机会对聂教授做了一个访谈,访谈主要围绕文学伦理学批评的理论建构、基本术语等问题展开,并涉及伦理与道德的区别、文学伦理学批评的跨学科特性等问题。本访谈试图厘清文学伦理学批评的基本体系框架及其独创性特征,使有志于该领域研究的学者对文学伦理学批评的基本理论、术语和核心概念有更清晰的了解和把握,进而共同努力,以实现中国文学批评理论走出去并引领国际学术话语研究的宏大目标。

An Interdisciplinary Study
of Ethical Literary Criticism:
An Interview
with Professor Nie Zhenzhao

Abstract: A prominent scholar in foreign literature study in China, Nie Zhenzhao is professor of English literature and comparative literature at Zhejiang University and he also serves as vice­-president of such organizations as China National Foreign Literature Association, the International Association for Ethical Literary Criticism, and Chinese/American Association for Poetry and Poetics (CAAP). As the founder of Ethical Literary Criticism, Professor Nie, during the recent years, has been engaged in the theoretical construction and critical practice of Ethical Literary Criticism. This interview with Professor Nie centers on the theoretical construction of, and distinctive terminologies in Ethical Literary Criticism, involving such issues as the distinction between ethics and morals, and the interdisciplinary traits of Ethical Literary Criticism. The interview aims to clarify the criticalframework of Ethical Literary Criticism and its originality, hopefully offering the scholars concerned a perspective to achieve a better understanding of the theoretical foundation, terminologies, and core concepts in Ethical Literary Criticism, hence contributing to the grand goal of Chinese ethical literary criticism stepping onto the world arena and leading the international academic discourse research.

“南海仲裁案”裁决前后《纽约时报》对中美双方话语转述的比较分析

【摘要】新闻报道离不开转述言语,读者可以通过转述言语的形式、消息来源、转述动词的使用看出转述者对于转述消息介入程度的大小。南海仲裁案引起了西方尤其是美国的广泛关注,美国媒体对此进行了大量的报道。本文对《纽约时报》在该案的裁决之前和之后关于“南海仲裁案”的报道进行了比较分析。通过分析可以看出,南海仲裁案裁决前后无论是中美双方的官方话语还是《纽约时报》对这些话语的转述都发生了微妙的变化。

A Comparative Analysis
of Sino­-American Speech Reported
in New York Times before and after the South China Sea Arbitration

Abstract: Reported speech is indispensable to news reports and the readers can often estimate the extent to which the reporters interfere into the reported speech by examining its modes, sources and reporting verbs. The South China Sea arbitration has attracted lots of interest from the West, especially the United States of America, and it has been widely reported by American news media. This paper intends to make a comparative analysis of the reported speech of relevant Sino­-American official discourses by New York Times before and after the arbitration. From the analysis we can see the subtle changes both in the official attitudes and in the way the discourses are reported by New York Times.

【摘要】本文通过讨论多模态话语分析到多模态批评话语分析的发展,发现多模态话语分析虽然将意义的研究拓展到语言之外的多种表意模态,但是并没有充分关注社会活动者利用表意模态实现其意图的社会活动。在此基础上,本文进一步讨论多模态批评话语分析关于研究对象和研究方法的认识,分析这些认识的后现代特征,认为多模态批评话语分析对“符号资源”的认识、对认知和批评分析方法的强调,较现有多模态话语分析路径来说是一个新的发展。

Abstract: Observing the development of multimodal discourse analysis (MDA) to multimodal critical discourse analysis (MCDA), it is found that MDA, though extending the study of meaning beyond language to other modes of meaning making, has not paid due attention to the intention social actors aim at by deploying various meaning­-making modes. The paper further discusses MCDA’s conceptualization of its research objects and methods and, by analyzing them in terms of postmodernity, proposes that MCDA, compared with other approaches in MDA, is a new step in the developing process of MDA. This proposal is solidly supported by a detailed illustration of MCDA’s conceptualization of “semiotic resources” and the “cognitive” and “critical”analytical methods.

环保公益广告中的
多模态隐喻表征类型研究
——以保护水资源公益广告为例

【摘要】结合国内外多模态隐喻表征研究的相关成果,在Forceville的多模态隐喻理论框架内,以中华环保基金会官网上收集的90篇保护水资源公益广告为语料来源,本文研究了该类公益广告中多模态隐喻的主要表征类型及其隐喻映射的语类特点。研究表明,保护水资源公益广告中存在六种多模态隐喻表征类型,图像、文字、文图是保护水资源公益广告多模态隐喻表征的三种主要模态,而图像-文字、图像-文图两类表征的出现频率最高。论文结合具体实例分析并阐释了多模态隐喻表征背后的认知理据,其研究结果在一定程度上丰富了公益广告的语类特点研究,同时也为公益广告设计者提供了一定的启发。

Multimodal Metaphorical Representation in Pro-­environment Public Service Advertisements
of Water Protection

Abstract: Based on the theory of Forceville’s multimodal metaphor and the latest researches on multimodal metaphorical representation, this paper explores the multimodal metaphorical representation in the Public Service Advertisements (PSAs) of water protectionand the regularities of metaphorical mapping that features this genre. The data of the study are 90 PSAs of water protection collected from the official website of China Environmental Protection Foundation. The results show that there are six types of multimodal metaphorical representations in the PSAs of water protection. Pictorial mode, verbal mode and verbal & pictorial mode are the major modes used in the multimodal metaphorical representations. Pictorial mode-verbal mode and pictorial mode-verbal & pictorial mode show a much higher frequency of occurrence than other types of multimodal metaphorical representations. The underlying cognitive motivation of multimodal metaphorical representations is discussed through the analysis of PSAs of water protection. The study further sheds light on the genre features of PSAs and offers some insights into the design of the genre.

商务英语专业学生的
身份认同研究

【摘要】商务英语专业是英语和商科复合而成的专业人才培养模式。该专业一方面被归为英语专业大类,另一方面涵盖大量的商科课程,因此该专业的学生在身份认同方面可能存在独特之处。针对319名商务英语专业本科生的问卷调查表明,尽管同时涉及两个学科,该专业的学生并不简单地将自己视为英语专业或商科专业的学生,也较少出现学界担心的身份认同缺失现象,而是形成了较强的独立身份认同。因此,商务英语专业未来的发展导向不应该只是英语和商科课程的叠加,而是促进两个学科的有机融合,挖掘核心内涵。

A Study of the Identity
of Business English Students

Abstract: Business English is an inter­disciplinary program integrating the fields of English and Business. It is labeled as an English major but at the same time involves a series of Business courses. Therefore, the identity of Business English students may show its uniqueness. A survey of 319 undergraduate students from a Business English program has shown that despite the involvement into two fields, Business English students do not simply regard themselves as English majors or Business majors, nor do many of them show a loss of identity which some scholars have previously been worried about. In fact, they have formed a relatively strong independent identity. In short, the future path for Business English program shall be a perfect integration of the fields of English and Business with the aim of forging its core values rather than a simple combination of English and Business courses.

对翻转课堂体验的实证研究
——以商务英语写作课程为例

【摘要】本研究基于翻转课堂1.0和2.0教育理念,以商务英语写作课程为例,进行教学改革实验,进而探讨商务英语学习者的学习体验。对学习者调查反馈的定性与定量数据分析结果表明:学习者对于信息技术环境、认知、社会以及教学存在都有较好的体验,其中认知存在与他们的学习效果最为密切相关。由此可见,以信息技术为基础,结合学科特色,混合多种翻转课堂教学模式,有助于提升教学效果。

An Empirical Research of
College Business English Learners’
Experiences of Flipped Classroom:
A Case Study
of Business English Writing Course

Abstract: Based on the concept of flipped classroom 1.0 and 2.0, this paper reports a teaching experiment that explores Business English (BE) learners’ experiences of taking BE writing course. The results of the quantitative and qualitative analysis showed that BE learners had positive experiences of information technology, cognitive presence, social presence and teaching presence, among which cognitive presence had the closest correlation with students’ learning effectiveness. Therefore, it is beneficial for improving teaching effectiveness to integrate multi­-modes of flipped classroom, discipline features and information technology.

【摘要】20世纪80年代,ESP研究在中国开始萌芽,如今高校大学英语教学与特定学科专业挂钩,以职业需求为导向,逐步成为大学英语教育转型探讨中备受瞩目的发展方向。在ESP实践过程中,教学模式与教师的培养问题一直是改革中的瓶颈。针对此问题,许多学者提出合作教学的理念,但合作主体很少涉及目前在国内英语师资队伍中占不小比例的外籍教师。本文以合作教学的理论为依据,对母语为英语的外籍教师与国内英语教师在教学中的特点进行实证研究,通过对ESP教师知识能力需求的分析,尝试构建中外教师合作教学模式。

Towards Constructing
a NNEST­-NEST Cooperative
Teaching Model in ESP

Abstract: ESP (English for Specific Purposes) has gained momentum in research and study since its introduction into China in the 1980s. College English teaching with a purpose to facilitate communications between professionals of a certain discipline is a remarkable trend. In practice, how to tailor the teaching to students’ needs and help EGP (English for General Purposes) teachers to change roles to handle the challenges in ESP has been one of the main concerns. This paper attempts to construct a cooperative teaching model between NNESTs (Non­native English­ Speaking Teachers) and NESTs (Native English­ Speaking Teachers) by drawing upon the advantages of their academi faculty.

【摘要】黑人民族在美国一直处于被排除、被否定、被剥夺和被抛弃的生存状态。那些将文学创作视为使命的美国非裔作家们也一直在尝试着通过文学改变这种状况。拉尔夫·埃利森通过考察爵士乐在美国的兴起和发展黑人音乐家在美国近似悲剧的生活和超越苦难经历,看到了黑人在美国生存发展的可能性和美国民主的可能性。通过文化的必然性,埃利森不仅创新性地重新定位了美国文化,也使一个没有公民身份的民族成为了自己的主人。埃利森的生存智慧是推动美国社会文明进步的一股文化力量。

Ralph Ellison’s Philosophical Meditation on the Existential State

Abstract: The state of life for black people is an existencebeing secluded, denied and even, abandoned and deprived. Writers with a missionhave been trying to change this social position. Ralph Ellison’s philosophicalmeditations of the rise and evolution of jazz witness the musician’snear­tragic life as example of existential possibility to transcend the painfuldetails of brutal experience, and also the possibility of American democracy.Of oneself is a struggle to free a race from a subjective conflict to aninter­subjectivity co­existence, by means of cultural necessity, Ellisoncreatively re­oriented American culture, reflecting the lack of human identityto be the master first of his own race. Ellison’s wisdom of existence is acultural power to promote civilization progress of American society.

【摘要】乔伊斯(Joyce Ann Joyce)是美国著名非裔文学批评家,在非裔研究、美国文学以及女性研究等领域颇多建树。非洲情节贯穿于乔伊斯文学批评研究的始终,对其做系统研究有助于把握乔伊斯的文学批评思想的脉络。本文通过对乔伊斯的文学批评理论和实践的探讨,发现有关的非洲情结不仅体现于她对非洲和非裔文化传统的认同和维护,而且还反映在她批评实践中对于非洲传统文化元素的挖掘和应用。本研究对于深入了解乔伊斯的文学批评理论具有重要意义,同时有利于拓宽美国非裔文学研究的空间维度。

Abstract: Joyce A Joyce, a well-­known African American literary theorist, has made great achievements in the field of African study, American literature and feminism. The systematic study of Joyce’s Afro­-centralism that is integrated into her literature criticism helps to grasp the thread of Joyce’s literary theories. Based on the study of Joyce’s literary criticism, this article found her African complex not only embodied in heridentity of African and African cultural tradition, but also reflected in her exploration and application of African traditional culture elements in her criticism practice. Therefore, it is of great significance in understanding Joyce’s theories of literary criticism, as well as in broadening the space and dimension of African­-American literature study.

【摘要】作为黑人女权主义文化诗学的领军人物,胡克斯“越界”的学术话语和文本书写形式成为当今黑人理论界中最独特的风景。胡克斯独创性地运用学术话语与大众话语、理论话语与非理论话语、标准英语与黑人口语等多声部叠加的“克里奥尔连贯体”的批评策略,质疑和颠覆了西方支配性的理论话语模式,“喻指”性地改写了主流学术话语的本质,重新书写了“多样性”的批评话语。

Abstract: As a leading cultural critic of black feminism, bell hooks is a unique figure in contemporary American academy for herpolyphonic critical discourse. By employing a “hybrid” writing strategy which transgresses the boundary between academic and popular discourse, the theoretical and non-theoretical discourse, standard English and black English, hooks questions and subverts the dominating theoretical discourse, and furthermore, she revises and changes the nature of mainstream academic discourse.

【摘要】翻译符号学是符号学的分支学科,该学科的出现是符号学与翻译学发展的内在需求。从翻译符号学角度看,符号守恒指符号承载的信息总量在符号转换前后保持不变;符号共相、信息守恒定律和文本信息恒量确保了符号守恒的实现;符号守恒的层级体现为从质感层守恒到现实层守恒再到思维层守恒的连续统,是动态叠加的过程。

On Semiotic Information Conservation
from the Perspective

Abstract: Translation semiotics is an emerging branch of Semiotics. It is a must for building this discipline to combine Semiotics with Translation Studies. From the perspective of translation semiotics, semiotic information conservation refers to remaining the amount of information before and after translation. Semiotic universals, the law of conservation ofinformation and constant information of the text are the theoretical bases of “semiotic equations”. Hierarchy of semiotic conservation is a continuum, embodied from the texture layer to effective layer, and then, to thinking layer.

论翻译符号学的符号分类与转换

【摘要】以往的符号学及相关研究以语言文字为参考点,将人类用以载意的符号分为语言符号和非语言符号。但是,语言符号与非语言符号的分类与互动不足以覆盖翻译广义范畴的所有符号转换类型,故而有必要以物质介质为参考点,将人类表意符号分为依存于外部物质介质的有形符号和依存于大脑内部介质的无形符号。这两类符号之间存在的三种转换(即有形符号转换为有形符号、有形符号转换为无形符号,以及无形符号转换为有形符号),构成了翻译符号学有关符号活动范畴与类别、符指过程等领域的思想基础,既可丰富符号学有关符号类型划分的相关思考,还可拓展人类交际过程和文本阐释研究的视角,更可以为翻译学有关翻译类型、翻译过程、译者思维与心理、机器翻译等领域提供有益的启示。

On the Classification
and Transformation of Signs
from the Perspective
of Translation Semiotics

Abstract: Previous researches on semiotics and other relevant studies classified the signs human beings employ to express thoughts and meaning into linguistic signs and non­-linguistic signs, with reference to language as the core member of the sign family. However, this classification and their transformations cannot cover all the types of translation in the broad sense as sign activity (orsemiosis). Therefore, it is necessary to re­-divide the signs carrying the meaning(s) into tangible signs and intangible signs with consideration to their dependent media, the former depending on outer material media, and the latter on the inner material media consisting of cerebral nervous system. And the three types of transformation between them, namely from tangible signs to tangible signs, from tangible signs to intangible signs, and from intangible signs to tangible signs, lay a solid foundation in the category and classification of sign activity, and semiosis in terms of translation semiotic. Meanwhile, the re­-divisions and their transformations can not only enrich the relevant researches on semiotic theories of sign types, human communication and sign­-text interpretations, but offer instructive inspiration for the researcheson translation types, translation process, translators’ mind and psychology, machine translation, etc.
